**Race 11/29 Cancelled**
Tomorrow is our first race! Yay!
The race is at Elm Creek, bus leaves at 2:00. High Schoolers are excused from class at 1:40 and middle schoolers at 1:25. For those concerned, us coaches plan to contact the attendance secretaries for most of our races. Parents, it will be clear if you need to reach out to them for specific events. But we have it handled for all normal conference races.

Tomorrow, is a skate race. 1 skier from each school will go out every 20 seconds. A 2k loop is available right now, so returning skiers will plan to do 2 loops and first years have the option to cheer, do 1 loop, or try 2 loops.
Girls start at 4:00
Boys start at 4:30
Skiers, please make sure you pack:
- Uniform
- Thermal tops & bottoms underneath race suit
- Ski boots
- Snow boots/shoes
- Snacks
- Water bottle
- Watch
- Race Hat & dry hat for after your race
- Mittens
- Winter Coat
Should be a fun day on snow!
Team Jacket Order - Due Dec 5.
Skiers and Parents,
Below is a link to order a team jacket. This is completely optional. The design will be the same as previous years. The storefront closes Monday, December 5, 2022 at Midnight CST. With this closing date, the estimated ship date is mid-January. If you have any questions on sizes, feel free to call customer service or kindly ask to try on your teammates’ jackets over the next couple of days.

Skiers!
If you are able to acquire a ride, us coaches wanted to encourage and give you the option to go to Elm Creek to be on snow tomorrow instead of our scheduled team practice. Elm Creek is not allowing team practices yet, so we cannot go as a team, but that doesn’t have to stop you as individuals. Most of your skis are in the ski room and I will be able to open that room at 3:00. Please make sure you have your Student ID in lieu of your trail pass. If you are unable to get to Elm Creek, we still have practice that you should attend. Bus leaves at 3:15.
A very important announcement from our Booster Club:
The CRHS Nordic Ski Team: 2022-2023 Fundraising
The 2022-23 CRHS Nordic Ski season is almost here! Each year, the CRHS Nordic Ski
Booster Club supports the CRHS Nordic Ski team in a variety of ways.
Examples include:
Providing equipment for new skiers
Providing ski wax and waxing equipment
Providing snacks and meals and select meets and winter camp
Trail passes for practices or winter camp
Lodging for select meets
The booster club needs skiers to fundraise in order to achieve the items listed above,
we can’t do it without parent support.
This year we are asking the skiers to participate in THREE fundraisers:
1. door-to-door fundraising (more details below),
2. bagging groceries at Cub Foods and
3. selling Heggie’s pizzas
More details to be provided on #2 and #3 at the parent meeting on November 14, 2022
1. First up! Nordic Afternoon Fundraiser:
What: Skiers will solicit donations directly from the Coon Rapids community, going door-
to-door in groups (with a parent chaperone), as a team activity. Parent Drivers
Needed! Please contact Sara 763-360-8854 or Aimee 612-599-7237 if you can drive.
We would need at least 10 drivers with 4 skiers per car
Date: Sunday, November 13th, 2022
Time: 11:30-2:30
Where: Meet in the Atrium at the high school, if you’re locked out, call one of the
numbers above.
This is a fun way to get to know your teammates and help the CR Nordic program.
Remember to wear your Nordic wear or any Coon Rapids clothing you have. Please
invite any first years!
2. Cub Food Grocery Bagging
Come support the team, see your teammates, and bag up some groceries! Parents, we
need your help too! We need at least two adults to stand by the tables per shift.
Please let Sara or Aimee know if you can help chaperone one of the three, two hour
shifts. (10-12, 12-2, 2-4pm)
Date: Sunday, November 20 th
Time: 10AM-4PM – Two hour shifts
Where: Cub Foods (Hanson and Northdale-near the high school)
We are assigning shifts by alphabetical order, if you’re unable to volunteer at your time,
please try to switch with someone or let us know if you need help covering the shift.

Wear: Your Coon Rapids Nordic Gear! If you don’t have any Nordic gear, Coon Rapids
gear is great!
Remember that the funds we raise help support the team in various ways: skis, poles,
wax, waxing equipment, trail passes, a pretty sweet room for CR skiers at Giant’s
Ridge, snacks, meals, etc. THIS IS HUGE FOR THE TEAM!

3. Heggie’s Pizza Sales
We are asking each skier to sell a minimum of 15 pizzas. Families are welcome to
make a $75 donation to the CRHS Nordic Ski Booster Club in lieu of selling pizzas if
desired. More information to come at the Parent Meeting on 11/14

Registration is now open for Nordic Season. Below are instructions on how to do so. The first day of practice is Nov. 14th.

1.Login to AHConnect (Guardian Login)
2. Click on the My Student Info Icon
3.Click the Fees Tab
4.Click Pay for Meals/Activities
5. Click view items next to Coon Rapids High School Athletics & Activities
6. Add the sport/activity you are signing up for to your cart
7.Checkout & Pay
*If you do not see any sports listed then the school needs a new sports physical for the the Athlete

The ParentVue app is available and able to be used for registration
If you don’t have a computer the Activities Office will provide one for you.
Free and Reduced lunch are two different things. Free lunch=Free activities; Reduced lunch=activity price cut in half. The prices will appear to be the full amount until you put the item in your cart.
Please register early to avoid delaying student’s participation.
To register, every student needs to have an up to date sports physical. If the student’s physical is going to expire during the season you won’t be able to register. Bring physicals to the Activities Office or email them to Jacqueline.Lacy@ahschools.us. When the office receives the physical you will be able to register online.
